Do you have special event and can't find what you are looking for at a local store, none of your friends had anything that fit, and you got a headache trying to look for dresses on an auction site where you got unrelated results and poorly worded descriptions..some without pictures. I realized that finding a dress that goes beyond the standard fare and really makes you look your best is a tough order.

I decided to go hunting and found something that I'm pretty confident will get you in a dress and looking fabulous faster than you can say "fashionista"! The Pageant Planet has a classifieds section that contains pages of pageant dresses, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, and more. They even have accessories and shoes. With easy to use search options and customization you won't need to spend all day trying to find what you need.

I spent some time flipping through listings and I was really surprised at all the things I found. Versaci, Sherri Hill, Jovani, and custom made dresses in some of the hottest styles. What was even more impressive was the prices. You can find some high fashion at thrift store prices. I even spied some women's power suits so you can ace that interview you've been nervous about.

There are a fair amount of accessories as well. Shoes, earrings, and necklaces to add that finishing touch to your new dress. You can also look around the rest of the site and find articles, blogs, forums, and an event calendar of upcoming pageants. This site is truly a useful resource if you compete in or are a fan of pageants. With such a wealth of information, why look anywhere else?

Pageant Planet is an excellent source for all things pageant and a great way to find a stunning dress to make you feel like a million dollars(without having to spend that kind of money.)

Men’s Apparel Sizing and Guide

Men’s Apparel Sizing and Guide

Author: ShopClues

Be it buying your apparel online or offline, size is the first thing we keep in mind while making purchases for men. Be it a formal wear, casual wear, sportswear or any other type of clothing you want to move on with- sizing and fit matters the most. We often see people making mistakes in selecting the perfect fit and sizing of apparel to suit their body type, so here is Shopclues with some tips on how to measure your body and get the clothing that fits you perfectly and enhances your personality.

1. Collar: Measure around the base line of neck where your shirt fits perfectly. Make sure there is no suspended space between the tape and neck.

2. Chest: Place the tape exactly below your armpits and measure around the fullest part of your chest. For better results, inhale naturally.
3. Back: Measure across the top curve of your shoulder from one edge to another. Make sure you’re taking the curved line and not straight one.
4. Sleeve: Keep arm at your side and get someone to measure from upper shoulder tip to the hem of your outer arm.
5. Waist: Measure around the fullest natural waistline.
6. Inside Leg: Measure inside leg from crotch till the ankle bone.
7. Outside Leg: Start measuring from your natural waistline up till the hem of your trouser.
8. Centre Back Length: Begin from the center of the collar line to your natural waistline.
9. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips while standing straight in your natural posture.
10. Shoes: Feet should be usually measured using professional device like ‘Brannock’ or ‘Ritz Stick’. Either you borrow it from your nearest local shoe shop or get your feet measured perfectly by them.

Once you are finished with measuring your body accurately, the nest step is- what kind of apparel suits you as per your body appearance – whether it’s a shirt, t-shirt, formal shirt or a funky t-shirt. Let us suggest you some Dos and Don’ts according to your Body type to make you look your best.

Muscular Men: If you’re a brawny man having that perfect ‘V’-Shaped body then avoid wearing extra boxy clothes. Your perfect outfit is a t-shirt or a shirt that narrows at lower stomach area - waist. You can also flaunt your perfect body shape by avoiding multiple-layered or puffy clothes.

Thin: We have a solution for all those who are often addressed as thin built or slim. Look for shirts or t-shirts that are slim fit and go for turtle necks and crewed necks. Go for outfit with spread collars as they help your chest look wider. Avoid ‘V’ neckline as it shows off thin features.

Chunky: To look taller and slimmer, you best pick should be vertical stripes for shirts as well as trousers. Try to go for V-necklines as these make you look slimmer. Wear at-least waist length Shirts and T-shirts and avoid short shirts or t-shirts. Also avoid and kind of boxy designing on hips, it would make you look even shorter.

Pear-Shaped: Are you among so-called pear-shaped men? Don’t worry; ShopClues is here to help you out. Opt for darker colors while selecting trousers, such as black, navy blue or brown and boot-cut pants make you look slimmer from thighs and hips. Avoid wearing skinny outfits with jackets that end at your hips, as they flatter the pear shaped curves. Instead replace those with jackets or t-shirts with apparel that reach slight down.

Big: Wear pointed-collar shirts or t-shirts that turns focus more towards your face. Opt for 3-button blazers or overcoats instead of 1- and 2-button ones; as these makes your body look elongated and help you look taller and thinner. Keep the top button undone to help you move freely; also standing straight and wearing pants with slightly longer hems will make you look taller. Avoid wearing turtle necks or crewed necks that almost make your neck disappear, making you look shorter and thus bigger.

Things to consider when buying vintage goods
By:Julie27

There are so many ways to buy fashion apparels these days. You can purchase your fashion items in physical stores, online stores, online auctions, expos or high-end auctions. But whatever method you choose, there are general guidelines you should follow.

When buying designer cheap , vintage stuffs, you have to find your size - get a quick reading on an un-sized garment, hold it against your body and see how it hangs relative to arms, legs, bust and waistline. But you MUST try it on to be sure. Don't EVER buy a piece, even as simple as a tank top, without trying it on. Finally, with vintage clothes, put them on gently at half speed--it's sad to have to buy something just because you ripped it a new neckline.

Recognize quality garments - Great buttons, beautiful interior seams, unusual details (like cuffs of a peculiar shape), welted buttonholes (the kind that look like mail slots) any detail that looks like it took some thought and effort rather than run-of-the-mill. The more experience you get shopping at secondhand stores, the better and wiser you get. Also, try not to blow a couple dollars here and there constantly buying stuff -- it's much smarter to save up for a really great, high-quality piece that you'll wear and wear for years.

If you're looking to pump up your wardrobe with designer clothes , consignment may be a great, cost-effective way to do it. Then again you have to consider several things. Find a good consignment store by searching in an affluent, fashion forward neighborhood to save about 70% off retail. The best time to buy current merchandise is halfway through a season you can find items brought in by style mavens who are already through with them.

The best bargains are usually the most expensive -- it's difficult to get 30-40% off retail for an Armani. Look for core pieces, such as a Calvin Klein pantsuit, which can be purchased for a few hundred dollars. You can build from there and accessorize. Shop by feel -- you'll appreciate the better fabrics. And once you start wearing better cut clothing it's hard to go back.

Staying Warm but Stylish With Ugg Boots

November 4th 2010 01:52
by Barabbas Chambers
A few years ago, a then tiny boot brand generally reserved for surfers in Australia burst onto the shoe scene. That brand was Ugg, a name popularized by surfers who appreciated the warm, fuzzy lining of the boots. Surfers in Australia depended on the warm insides of Ugg boots to keep their feet warm when they came out of the water, but no one thought of Uggs as fashionable at the time.Uggs are unisex sheepskin boots - they have fleece on the inside and a tanned outer surface with a rubber sole. They're not waterproof, so they don't do that well in the snow, which is ironic, because many Americans initially purchased their Uggs as snow boots.

A few years ago, tons of Hollywood celebrities gave Uggs a try, and just like that, the boots were everywhere! These days, you'll find Ugg boots have gone high fashion - the retailer recently collaborated with shoe designer Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo to create a line of boots with studded stars and other fashionable finishes, like fringes.Uggs have gone from practical to fashionable in just a few years, and nowadays, the brand has way more than just boots. Now, you can get Ugg shoes, Ugg sandals, Ugg clogs, Ugg slippers - the list goes on and on! Ugg boots help you stay warm once the cold air rushes in, but thanks to a fashionable revamp, these surfer boots can also help you stay super stylish. Below are some picks for the fall season.

Ugg Australia Women's Classic Tall

These are the Ugg boots that started it all - the classic tall boot is one of the brand's "heritage styles." Recently, these boots underwent a high fashion makeover, and they now come in marbled copper sheepskin, so you can stay warm and make a statement at the same time. The tall Ugg boots are the most versatile style, because they look great pulled all the way up and also rolled down with a portion of the fleece sheepskin showing. With a soft foam insole covered in genuine sheepskin, these boots are extremely comfortable and also extremely warm.

Ugg Australia Womne's Classic Short

The classic shorts, like their taller relatives, are also a part of the boots that started it all. But they came next, in a shorter style that was popularized by college students all over the country, who could be seen sporting their Ugg boots with everything from denim miniskirts to tucked in sweatpants or black leggings. Every pair of classic short boots is lined in plush fleece, which keeps your feet cozy and warm, no matter what the temperature is outside. You'll also find a reinforced heel that will outlast the test of time. These boots don't attract a lot of attention; instead, they're stylish in a more classic way. Consider getting these boots in the simple chestnut shade, because they'll go with almost anything you wear.

Ugg Australia Women's Lynnea Clog

As mentioned above, Ugg has greatly expanded their offerings over the years. Now, you can find not just boots, but also sandals, slippers and even clogs! Clogs are extremely trendy this season, and Ugg's take on the famous shoe is at once stylish and warm. With a suede and leather upper and a sheepskin fleece lining, these shoes give you a bit of extra height. They're super fashionable, modeled after the clogs that Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld made famous a few seasons back, with molded rubber heels, leather lined heels and nail head trim. Perfect for the girl who wants to stay warm and fashionable at once, these look great with a dress and a pair of thick tights.

Ugg Australia Women's Coquette Sheepskin Slippers Second to the classic style, the slip-on sheepskin slippers created by Ugg are one of the most popular styles out there. These slippers aren't technically meant for the great outdoors, but that hasn't stopped college students from wearing them to class en masse.Warm, cozy and comfortable, these slippers are fully lined with sheepskin and have a soft, flexible outer. They're constructed to mold to your foot, so you'll never want to take them off. Best of all, they're fashionable enough to wear out in public - while they're clearly comfortable slippers, they won't look ridiculous out and about in the world.

Uggs may have come from modest beginnings, but these days, the fashionable boots can be spotted on everyone from college kids across the northeast to celebrities looking to give their feet a rest from six inch heels. Get yourself a pair of Uggs this fall to ensure that you don't just stay toasty, but you also stay fashionable as well. There's no reason that you should have to sacrifice style just to stay warm - Ugg provides styles that will keep your toes warm and cozy and will still make you look great!

Halloween is less than 2 months away and I know that some of you ladies are probably going to wait until the last minute to get your costume. I don't relish the thought of wading through a sea of people to find that the costume you want is sold out, and the rest aren't in your size, or they are missing pieces. This happens all too often and it really sours the mood on what is normally a really fun holiday

While strolling the internet, I came across something that I think is kind of unique. There are plenty of places to shop online, and most of them search across multiple sites to find you the best deals. I found a site that seemed to take it a step further. The site is designed to read like a wiki. Like wikipedia or any number of other wiki style sites you find a topic, and the wiki tells you all about that topic. In the article are links to related items about what you searched for.

Shopwiki does something similar, but with items like Men's Pants. From there, you can search within the category to sub-categories like the type and style of pant you are looking for. Once you've reached the item you are looking for, Shopwiki will show you matching items, the list of stores they are available at, and than show you the best choice as well. The site looks at any online retailer, not just sponsored advertisers vying to be at the top of the list

So, what is vintage culture without vintage clothing? Or clothing that looks vintage at least. If you really want that pin up girl look but don't have the time to pick through piles of crap a the Salvation Army you should seriously consider heading on over to pinupgirlclothing.com

They have a great selection of world class looking threads and really hot models to show it off with. You can see Masuimi Max (she's one of my favorites.)and a host of other hotties showing off the pinup girls wares, err wears? They have dresses, swim wear, shoes, streetwear, men's clothing, Halloween customs, and more! Here's a couple of examples
