Changes

October 16th 2011 02:01
There have been some very dramatic changes in my life that have prevented me from blogging for some time. I apologize to all the followers of this blog. I hope to have everything in order by the end of October and begin writing again. Hopefully I can do something fun and different with this site then.

With the current economic climate the average gal has less money and less time to spend on fashion and beauty, so many of us inevitably come up with solutions to make it easier to 'keep up with the jones'. Some solutions include shopping at thrift stores in the hopes of finding the perfect vintage dress for the perfect price! Others include shopping online to save time searching in the same old, boring shopping centers! Then there are some of us who try shopping in our own wardrobes, by pulling out all the old clothes, shoes and bags that were once in fashion and trying to reinvent them by adding a pair of high waisted shorts or a flare of color! All I can say is thank god 'vintage' is in or we'd all be in a whole lot of trouble (and a whole lot of debt!).

We are constantly reading in magazines how to reinvent our own wardrobes as it is obviously the cheapest alternative and if you know how to do it right, it can be the most time effective too. Here are a few tips (in not particular order)I have learnt after many years of studying magazines and sitting in piles of my clothes wanting to pull my hair out.

Tip #1: Never throw out anything black! Black goes with everything and unless your piece is about to fall apart you should never throw it away.

Tip #2: Matching a pair of brightly colored shoes to a plain outfit makes you look like a rock star.

Tip #3: Make-up can take a drab outfit to a fab one- try wearing bright eye make-up to match something your wearing.

Tip #4: Don't forget about your handbags! Don't be too lazy to change all your 'stuff' into a different handbag that could change your outfit from boring to Hollywood 'chic' (as the French would say).

Tip #5: Try to photograph or take note of your favorite outfits when you manage to pull one together- I recommend trying the i-Style app for iphones.

Tip #6: Jewelery! A cheap chunky old necklace with a plain outfit looks funky and is easy to do ( I learned that one from my 12th grade Drama teacher, thanks Ms Soppa!).

Tip #7: Slowly compile your staples. You may already have most or even all of them so just buy the rest from a cheap store like K-mart or even an opp shop. (Staples include- jeans, shorts, plain tops, black dress, black casual jacket, black dressy jacket, large black bag, black heels, comfy flats).

Tip #8: Color, Color, Color! Once you have your staples DO NOT buy more black or plain things. When you are making your next purchase buy something/ anything colored because you will have the confidence in knowing you already have something to match. Even a red chunky necklace for $5 from Diva will look awesome with jeans, a black top, black heels and red lippy!

Tip #9: Hair to die for. Always make an effort as hair is the cheapest way to change your look. Admittedly this can take time and practice but even a sleek high bun with some pearl earrings can change your look from 'young girl' to 'sophisticated woman'.

Tip #10: The 'tude! I know it sounds Corny but it's a scientific fact that your attitude changes the way people see you. If a girl has great style but a bad attitude it makes people WANT to find something bad to pick out about the way she looks....soooo... always smile and walk tall to inspire people to look at your good points.

Let's face it. Shopping is fun, but getting what you want at a bargain price is even sweeter. You can spend forever looking for the best price on an item, or you can do the smart thing and use Be Frugal to find the coupons and deals that will save you money. Be Frugal has a huge selection of quality coupons, coupon codes, and special deals, all at your fingertips. You can search for the coupons you want, or even browse by store. Pretty convenient, huh?

A Buyers Guide To Electronic Cigarettes

September 3rd 2010 00:58
A couple of months ago, after my friend Darcy's Wedding, we are out on his porch having a cigarette. One of the guys pulled out a pack of e Cigarettes. It was a sleek looking black plastic case, a shiny metallic wand shaped like a cigarette in the box, with a blue led at the end that lit up when he took a drag. We all stood around in amazement as he blew a beautiful puff of smoke from his mouth.

He explained to us how the electronic cigarette worked, and let us all try it. We all agreed this very close to the real thing, and a lot cleaner. I put the event in the back of my mind until recently, when i decided I needed a change. I hated smelling like smoke, and the awful smoker's breath, so I decided to look in to e Cigarettes again

Halloween is less than 2 months away and I know that some of you ladies are probably going to wait until the last minute to get your costume. I don't relish the thought of wading through a sea of people to find that the costume you want is sold out, and the rest aren't in your size, or they are missing pieces. This happens all too often and it really sours the mood on what is normally a really fun holiday

Does auto repair scare you? Do you wish you could find out what your repair might cost before you get a heart stopping bill? Or maybe you just need an easy way to find a good local repair shop. Repairpal.com might be the answer you are looking for. Repair Pal is a website that helps you get an honest estimate of what your auto repair might cost. It gives you listings of local repair shops, with user ratings and reviews. You can get information on a particular car, and even track your service.

Let's say you live in San Diego. You own a Ford F-150 manufactured in 1999. Your truck is giving you a check engine light. On Repair pal, you can find out some common reasons for seeing a check engine light, get a listing of auto repair centers in your area, and if you know the cause, get an estimate of what it might cost. All in one place

Men's fashion is constantly evolving and so are designers. It's not uncommon to find modern fashion taking inspiration from classical and often established and innovative looks of the past. Contemporary fashion designers give motivate and inspire us with their ideas and fine creations. The world of fashion will always have its established names, the likes of D&G and Pradas while new and upcoming designers will also be trying to establish their names and leave a mark in the fashion world. In this article I intend to keep you updated on the type of designers you should be watching this year and on my list are four whose work is getting plenty of attention, and whose amazing talent is sure to see them climb the Alexander McQueen fashion ranks very soon

While strolling the internet, I came across something that I think is kind of unique. There are plenty of places to shop online, and most of them search across multiple sites to find you the best deals. I found a site that seemed to take it a step further. The site is designed to read like a wiki. Like wikipedia or any number of other wiki style sites you find a topic, and the wiki tells you all about that topic. In the article are links to related items about what you searched for.

Shopwiki does something similar, but with items like Men's Pants. From there, you can search within the category to sub-categories like the type and style of pant you are looking for. Once you've reached the item you are looking for, Shopwiki will show you matching items, the list of stores they are available at, and than show you the best choice as well. The site looks at any online retailer, not just sponsored advertisers vying to be at the top of the list
